Who are you and what do you do?
My name is Kristel and I'm always glad to hear people pronouncing it Christal. But that doesn't mean I'll be shattering to pieces if there is an extremely loud guitar solo or drumming near. I adore concerts and taking photographs out there. I have shot lives for about four years, but from September 2008 I have taken pictures for a local entertainment portal U-pop.ee. Besides enjoying live music I have pretty much all the time music playing with me. I believe I have a diverse musical taste, because I'm really open to all kinds of new bands, recommendations, lives, but at the moment I enjoy progressive, avant-garde, experimental black metal and folk metal the most. Music and photography has interested me maybe for about six years, but I have been drawing since I got my first pencil = ). And my mother was kind enough to put me in children's art courses. At the moment I am working on a series with portraits of males with beards. And painting mostly lives and concerts.

Why?
Because the only place I love massive crowds are concerts = )
Who?
Animals and people with an inner animal.
Where?
Wherever there is some soft hair to caress.
What did you do 10 years ago on this day?
I was probably in the same place sleeping, only one floor lower and a bit shorter.
What do you think about global whining?
Whining is the most stupid way of wasting your energy. Lead it to better places and you'll be more pleased with your life = ).
What do you like?
The feeling of being in the first row on a concert and getting a smile from the artist. And I really love smiles from people I know and cute smiles from strangers = ). I adore flying along with guitar and all kinds of solos. I love scratching beards, especially extremely long ones. Traveling to festivals abroad. I like silver rings and other jewelry. And coffee.
What dont' you like?
I don't want to waste my energy on collecting thoughts about what I don't like.
Where do babies come from?
They just appear. Creepy. .
Pants or a skirt?
A skirt. Doesn't matter if a very long one or an extremely short, but definitely a skirt.
Tell us about your creative process.
Usually I'd like to do the whole work without long breaks to keep the right acting-mood. So if I begin in the evening, I'll probably finish in the morning. And always listening to music the same time = ).
Where do you find your ideas and inspiration?
I guess I just try to be open-minded and ready to notice the ideas in every detail or situation or feeling wherever I'm walking or just being. Some works might born without an idea too, I just start drawing some lines and they just progress during the scribbling-process.

Dogs or cats?
Dogs and their endless sincere happinness for sure. Wolves even better.
What is what you haven't done yet but would like to do?
I have'nt travelled much. Yet.
How do you gain courage when something needs to be dealt with?
I know, I leave it always to the last minute. Even to the minute after the last minute and then force myself. But I guess you just have to make a deal with yourself that you will do it and then really go and do it, because otherwise you'll just let down yourself and others too.

What is your advice to an artist?
I'm not that experienced to give advices to artists yet, but two words for sure: commitment and connections.
Quote to live by?
If you never try, you'll never know. I'm not sure I'm following it 100% yet, but moving closer to it.
Your idol(s)?
Munch and Toulouse-Lautrec. Daniel Falk, a concert photographer. Cindy Sherman and her self-portraits. Metsatöll, a local folk metal group.
What would you never do?
I would never stop being curious.
What is "in" at the moment?
For me skirts are always in.
If you were to start a trend what would it be?
I would like more men to wear courageously all kinds of beards = D

Would you like to add something?
Smile a lot = )
And the moon is full tonight. Go to the woods or near the sea or just outside to enjoy = )
Thank you for the interview!:)
