Finally Checked Out the Movie 2012

It's like watching the final part of Titanic on a loop for 2 and a half hours in a row. And in the end the Titanic pops back up and everyone is saved (so, there is your quality ending). And in 2012 there is no story built up so you don't really feel for the people, but it's still a little sad. But you can't really tell if you are depressed because of the world ending or because of the movie being not really what you expected. Or because you are out of coffee creamer.

2012 movie review http://www.collider.com/wp-content/image-base/Movies/T/Two_2012/posters/2012%20movie%20poster.jpg

It's a girls' movie, there is no gore and there is a lots of powerful graphics. It looks pretty. 80% of the movies have predictable storyline, some make it up with awesome details (like jokes or a bunch of good lines) and some make it up with pretty pictures. Even though it looks like they ran out of money at some point and the pace really slows down.

If you use your imagination a bit and don't concentrate on the science 2+2=3 part of the movie, you are able to have a hollow feeling in your stomach a few times and that's more than some movies offer:)

Oh and the guy who plays the Russian pilot is Estonian (Johann Urb), woo:)))

I saved my most annoying voice for these: "Omg, it's so unrealistic, I don't have a convenient pilot friend. Omg I can't climb out of a decaying gorge while holding a paper slip in one hand. Omg how are they going to preserve humans w/o any other species. Omg they couldn't calculate anything besides a wave hitting their boat and that by 1 second accuracy"...Yeah... It's really not about that.

If I had to rate it I would give it 2/4 which is just about the average or a little above average. And if I had to draw parallels, the movie 2012 is a bit like War of the Worlds(storyline) meets Transformers 2(a bunch of awesome graphics) meets Indiana Jones 4 (scientific randomness).

Adam Lambert sings a song called "Time for Miracles" for the movie and that is probably the reason why I heard so much about the movie and couldn't wait to check it out.

All in all, watch this when you are bored and have low expectations, that way there is plenty room for good surprises:)

Saturday Night Live used clips from the movie and clips from Sarah Palin as her 2012 election commercial. It was funny! And a bit sad.

I think you nailed it.

Hi,
Do we really believe in some sort of "change" is going to take place in 2012 based on an ancient culture? In my opinion religion was formed to explain things that were unexplainable to ancient people. Why'd it rain? The rain god made it so. Why is the person acting crazy? He has a demon.

What is my ponit?

That if there is some "shift" in thinking it will go unnoticed by the masses. Most of us won't realize it's happening until we can look back and see the paradigm shift in retrospect. I believe nothing magical or alien will happen on that day. The same way nothing happened in the year 2000 when all computers were going to fail and the second coming of Christ was supposed to happen. Movie looks interesting though.
